We've seen a few images from "Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D" before, including vehicles being transported to the set, but on Friday writer and executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen tweeted a behind-the-scenes image, meaning it's official.
The image shows a sign that says, humorously, "No weapons or alien tech beyond this point." It is, of course, unknown if the sign will ever be shown on camera.
S.H.I.E.L.D. is, of course, the fictional espionage and law-enforcement agency in the Marvel Comics Universe, and the Marvel Film Universe.
In the series, Clark Gregg reprises his role as Agent Phil Coulson. He is joined by Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Gemma Simmons, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, and Chloe Bennet as Skye.
Joss Whedon is directing the pilot. He and his brother Jed and Maurissa Tancharoen are co-scripting the pilot.
It has been confirmed that the series will take place after the events of "The Avengers." That will make the resurrection of Agent Coulson a prime focus in the pilot; his character was, as most know, killed off in the movie "The Avengers."
However, as most also know, very few deaths are final in comic books, and presumably in comic book movie and television universes.
