The team at Executive Golf plans to get golfers fired up for the 2014 season by putting together several spectacular trips and events that include a good-to-see-you curling evening.

“I'm currently putting final touches on a social bonspiel,” said Andy Rajhathy, vice president of Executive Golf. “It's an annual event for Executive Golf and a great opportunity for members and non-members to have some fun and socialize. We'll have a date and details soon.”

The first EG golf gathering of the year will happen when golfers load up a coach bus for the second annual Myrtle Beach getaway from Feb. 22-28.

“The hype is certainly surging for this event, as we only have two spots open for the more than 40-player trip,” said Rajhathy. “Our terrific sponsor, Mona Azzi of TD Mortgages, is backing us and some participants are taking it on their own accord to offer a ‘money-back’ guarantee of a good time.”

The good times will continue to roll for EG during the Ottawa-Gatineau GolfExpo, which goes from March 8-9 at the Ernst and Young Centre.

“The expo is always fun for vendors and participants,” Rajhathy said. “We’ll be running our chipping contest again and trying to give away some free golf.”

Shortly after the expo, a four-day trip to Ocean City, MD, will kick in. The spring rounds are slated for Man O’ War, War Admiral, the Links at Lighthouse Sound and Rum Pointe from March 11-15.

Open to EG members and non-members, the adventure is being organized by two-time Slammer of the Year, Lisa Muise. E-mail lisa@executivegolf.ca for details and to register.

An EG crew follows up the Maryland excursion by playing in the seventh ever il Primo Ristorante Getaway to Binghamton and Syracuse, NY, from April 25-27.

“The guys from il Primo Ristorante always spoil the participants along the way,” said Rajhathy. “The courses we’ll play are the classic track at Conklin for the first two days before we head for Syracuse to have a run at Timber Banks.”

The local outdoor season for the virtual golf club organization officially gets going on May 24 when 144 members and non-members play in the EG Opener at the prestigious Marshes Golf Club in Kanata. The tournament will be capped off by a dinner and prize presentations gala.

“We're really driven to produce a successful year of golf for members and players thinking of joining us in 2014. Plans are in place to launch new marketing initiatives with many of our 50 partner golf courses. Bring on the golf,” Rajhathy said.
