As seen in an update from HustleBoss.com on Friday, Sept. 13, WBA/WBC junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (26-0, 16 KO's) and interim WBC champion Lucas Matthysse (34-2, 32 KO's) both weighed in ahead of their scheduled clash later tonight inside of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Matthysse hit the scales at 140 pounds. Moments later, Garcia would weigh a half a pound over the junior welterweight limit. After some confusion, Garcia again hit the scale and weighed 140 pounds.
There was little trash talk this time as the two men stared each other down.
Garcia vs. Matthysse takes place later tonight from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada in a Showtime pay per view attraction.
So far, several boxing insiders have been leaning towards the Argentinean Matthysse to emerge with the victory, as he has raised eyes with consecutive stoppage victories over Lamont Peterson, Mike Dallas, Olusegun Ajose, and Humberto Soto.
Garcia is coming off of a rousing unanimous decision victory over Zab Judah this past April in which he dropped the former champion and survived a late rally to hold on to the victory.
Expect more updates from fight week in Las Vegas in the coming hours.
