Award winner and mufti-platinum selling producer, Lex Luger, begins his selections on what will become the official roster for ’TMOG’, Luger’s new record label this week. Alongside for the ride, is up and coming rapper, Whiteboy Tommy, for what fans are saying will topple Jay Z and Dr. Dre.
With his game on point, breaking all the industry rules in what has been referred to as the, “black mecca of the hip-hop", he has old ties within the community, the rapper known as 'Whiteboy Tommy', with his self-made rep on the streets, has swiftly developed into what label executives are now referring to as the next Drake .
Within a mostly urban hip-hop environment, he receives such praise and respect from his fellow artists, primarily due to his personal experiences and his first hand knowledge of the surrounding issues affecting these environments.
"Lex and I, are putting it on for the younger crowd. We make good music and the fact that Lex is one of the best producers in hip-hop is an advantage for me to make great music. I feel like we are the 2014 version of Dr. Dre and Eminem"- Whiteboy Tommy, shares.
"He commands a level of respect from his peers, when he takes the stage or gets into the studio." - Atlanta's private studio owner, Byron adds.
Luger, is now taking it to the next level, with his own label launch TMOG, and taking Whiteboy Tommy along for the ride. With his aggressively laid back flow and controversial lyrics, this is sure to be nothing less than another platinum selling track for Luger.
During the same year, Luger also worked with artists such as Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean, Wale, Juicy J, Soulja Boy, Snoop Dogg and 2 Chainz and went on to produce more than 200 songs between 2010 and 2011.
“It's a culture, it's a state of mind, it's a language, it's fashion, it's a style, it's something you feel every moment of your day. Hip hop is not commercial shit, hip hop is deep, it has a meaning for each person. You don't just listen to hip hop music, you feel it, you respect it, understand it, share it.” - Whiteboy Tommy
Tommy, has more than just street cred on his side, steaming from his mentors, and Brick Squad roots, amongst his freestyle and flow, Tommy has partnered up on a new urban inspired, clothing line, which is expected to be available to the general public, in the fall of 2015.
