This November, Bluewater Productions will publish the biography of The Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins as the latest addition to its line of FAME comic books -- and it's been written by yours truly!
The comic book biography FAME: Suzanne Collins will detail key moments from Collins' life that helped influence her best-selling series The Hunger Games, and show her rise to fame. This includes her childhood as the daughter of an Air Force Officer during the Vietnam War, her experience working in children's television, and the classic stories that inspired her books.
Besides the text written by myself, the comic book will be illustrated by Niño Harn Cajayon, with a cover by renowned graphic novel artist Joe Phillips. FAME: Suzanne Collins will be available for purchase starting in November, but you can preorder it now online. (And contact your local comic book store to ask them to carry it!)
"Bluewater is constantly reaching out to libraries and school systems because we think reading is incredibly important," said Darren Davis, president of Bluewater. "I learned how to read by reading comic books and for us to make a comic to share the life of person like Suzanne Collins is what we are about."
Bluewater is based in Vancouver, Wash. and is known for publishing both fiction and non-fiction comics. Some of their popular FAME and Female Force biographies have included Taylor Lautner, Stephenie Meyer, J.K. Rowling, Stephen King, Michelle Obama, Betty White, and Justin Bieber.
