Paul McCartney reunited with an old friend from the Beates' Star Club days -- Horst Fascher -- at McCartney's concert in Hamburg on Dec. 2.

Garrelt Danker, who produced a recent DVD on the Quarrymen, told us, "On December 2, we´ve been to Paul´s Hamburg (start) concert. Horst (Fascher) have been invited to come backstage, where he gave the DVD to Paul."

McCartney guitarist Brian Ray was also photographed with Fascher and former Beatles booking agent Joe Flannery. (See photo below.)

Fascher was a former boxer who was a bouncer at the Kaiserkeller when the Beatles played there in 1962, according to Bill Harry's "The Beatles Encyclopedia." Fascher can be heard singing "Hallelujah, I Love Her So" on the Beatles' Star Club recordings.

Joe is a really good guy! One of the original Beatle team and still in touch with Paul...great!

Horst Fascher and his wife had a little girl who had a heart defect. When Paul heard about it he paid for the specialists and the operation. Sadly the little girl died.

The picture of him and Paul looks like it was taken a few years ago. Paul has a different haircut now. Plus Horst has a different outfit on than the one he is wearing in the other picture.

agree with anne, the first pic seems old I'd say circa 2003

Siss, anne: That is very possible that the picture of Horst and Paul is older. We were told that pictures were taken by Paul's reps of this week's reunion. But the story makes sense, given the Quarrymen DVD mentioned just came out. (Go back to our home page ... we've reviewed it.)
