Michele Biancardi has his vineyards situated on his family's property in Puglia. It's a small boutique winery committed to producing wines which are distinctive and represent the terroir of Puglia.
Situated close to the sea where the sun and breeze are ever present, the vineyard is 'organic'. No synthetic fertilizers or pesticides are used in the vineyard. Technology is reduced to a minimum and energy provided by solar panels supplies all the vineyard requirements. Three varieties of indigenous grapes are grown, Fiano, Primitivo and Nero di Troia. Where wood is employed in the cantina, it is large barrels rather than barrique, as they want the natural grape flavors to predominate.
Michele Biancardi's personal representative, Lorenzo Giusto, the national export manager for the winery, will be pouring and discussing these authenic Italian wines at this in-store complimentary tasting at Lukas Liquor Superstore. It's the first exclusive opportunity for consumers to preview, taste and buy these small production wines, just now being brought into the local marketplace. On the tasting menu:
2013 Biancardi Solo Fiano
2012 Biancardi Uno Piu Uno Rosso Puglia
2011 Biancardi Anima di Nero Nero di Troia
2011 Biancardi Ponteviro Primitivo
