Exclusive interview with Rachel Crow at the Alice + Olivia presentation

One of our favorite presentations each season is designer Stacey Bendet's "Alice + Olivia" and we are excited to share highlights on Feb. 15. This season Stacey and her team truly outdid themselves taking over The McKittrick Hotel, which has a cool personality. The hotel was transformed into a fairy tale land and the production on this show was stunning. Each room represented a different part of an original fairy tail, which was handed to guests on a scroll and mapped out. The title of it was "Enchanted: The Search For The Golden Monarch."

Are you excited to be attending fashion week?

I'm very excited. It's my first time, so it's quite the experience.

What do you love about this presentation?

I love the princess theme. I feel like it's kind of "Alice in Wonderland." It's just beautiful and it's an honor to be here.

Tell me about your personal style?

I'm in jeans today and I have just a coat. It's definitely really fancy casual.

Whats coming up that you'd like to share?

"Rio 2" the animation movie will be out April 11 and I am Carla, the daughter of the two birds and it's a very big exciting thing for me. I can't wait for that and I've been in the studio writing a lot and I'm doing a lot with Peace First this year and it has been a great year.

Is this the first time you are doing an animated movie?

Yes it is . I just got to see it and I'm very excited with the way it turned out. It was really funny and the cast is Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg, Bruno Mars. Thats just some, so it was just a great experience.

Do you sing in the film as well?

I do! I am in the end song of the movie with Jamie Foxx, which is huge for me. Every time "Gold Digger" comes on I'm like "Mom! Oh My Gosh!"

Did you get to meet him?

I haven't, yet because he unfortunately sang his part here in NY and I was in LA. Hopefully very soon I will meet him.

We also spoke with Miss Pop who designed the nails with Essie for the presentation. She told, "So the idea behind the whole "it girl" for Alice and Olivia was this fairy tale princess running through the woods, so we wanted to take that dark mysterious twist on those classic tales, but also give it the richness and elegance of a princess, so what I did is a black licorice nail with a french moon, but I'm calling it a fairy tale french moon. Its got a tiara tip and a bejeweled half moon and I did that all with Essie "Good as Gold" and a dotting tool and if you don't have a dotting tool you can re-create the same look with a toothpick and bobby pin for the two sized dots." TRESemme designed the elaborate hair styles.
