I had the opportunity to chat with Tiffany Evans the songwriter and occasional actress, best known for her 2007 debut single, "Promise Ring," featuring Ciara. In this exclusive interview she opens up about her marriage, daughter, and her lavish birthday party in Atlanta. Read the full interview below:
Examiner (Anthony Bowles): How are you?
Tiffany Evans: “I'm blessed darling. Thanks for asking!"
Examiner (Anthony Bowles): How does it feel to be 21 now?
Tiffany Evans: “It feels beautiful. For some reason I've always been 21 in my head, but it hasn't tainted my experience of turning 21. (Laughs)"
Examiner (Anthony Bowles): What was the highlight of your party?
Tiffany Evans: “Oh man, the love I received from my friends and family was amazing. We danced so hard that night. It was the cream to my coffee! (Laughs) To be honest, I'm not usually a club chick and if I do go out, it's only for 30 minutes and then I'm back home or at a food spot in the A. But that night, I had so much fun."
Examiner (Anthony Bowles): How is your marriage to Lorenzo?
Tiffany Evans: “That's my boyfriend! He gives me butterflies. (Laughs) You know we're about to be married for three years and he still courts me. He keeps our love fiery in every way. We've been through so much together, but having Christ in the midst of our relationship has made us stronger. We're best friends, and lovers."
Examiner (Anthony Bowles): Were you surprised how the media responded to your secret
marriage and pregnancy?
Tiffany Evans: “Very surprised. For the most part, everyone was happy, and had a lot of positive things to say which is always beautiful. As for the negative, well you're always going to have that in some way, from someone so that doesn't need to be addressed."
Examiner (Anthony Bowles): How is your baby girl?
Tiffany Evans: “She's growing so fast. Time flies. She's about to be one, I feel like I just gave birth to her yesterday! I still have to pinch myself sometimes."
Examiner (Anthony Bowles): How has motherhood changed you?
Tiffany Evans: “Motherhood has changed me in so many ways. I've become wiser, more secure in myself, a FIERCE protector, and overall selfless. It's something so powerful that happens to you when you give birth. You feel like you can conquer anything. I thank God for allowing me to experience that gift. I understand more of my purpose, and I see the bigger picture."
Examiner (Anthony Bowles): How has it been since you’ve started Little Lady Enterprises?
Tiffany Evans: “Awesome, man! We're a small team of people but we execute our vision very well. We have a few projects in the works, including several new music videos, a pilot for a show, and my new project. It's a little overwhelming but we're in position for blessing."
Examiner (Anthony Bowles): What are your plans for the fall?
Tiffany Evans: “To upgrade and expand!"
Examiner (Anthony Bowles): Lastly, what upcoming projects can your fans expect from you soon?
Tiffany Evans: “I'm back in the studio working on new music. I'm very excited about my new project and the creative direction I'm going with it. I don't want to give away too many details just yet (laughs). I really want to thank my supporters for always keeping me uplifted!"
