Have you ever tried out for any other reality shows like American Idol, or America’s Got Talent?

“No, I have never tried out” for those shows said Sisaundra. Her decision to audition for “The Voice” was encouraged by her daughter .

“My daughter encouraged me to take my dream off the back burner and audition for The Voice.” says Sisaundra.

Auditions for all these shows on TV look very stressful, how was our experience during the audition process on The Voice? “It was extremely exciting and also nerve wracking waiting to find out if I was good enough to make the cut” says Sisaundra.

Song choices seem to often make or break contestants chances to go through to the next round. How did you choose your first audition song? “I submitted a few songs that I loved and was so thrilled to perform my top preference, ‘Ain't No Way’.”

Like fellow contestants Sisaundra was able to chose which team she would like to be in. She had the choice of either Shakira, Adam Levine, Usher or team Blake Shelton. Country singer and judge Blake Shelton was the first judge to turn his chair to face/choose the amazing songstress so it was no surprise she decided to be on his team. Sisaundra seems very happy with her team leader choice and says “Blake is a constant professional but also fun, caring and respectful about who I see myself as in the art of music.”

The singer was Celine Dion’s vocal director/choreographer, and has worked with noted artists such as David Foster, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Puff Daddy, Peabo Bryson, Patti La Belle, Janet Jackson, and Gloria Estefan... just to name a few. Her voice can also be heard on various jingles during commercials for major companies such as Folgers, Sears and Dr Pepper, she was also the narrator for Oscar nominated documentary “Sustaining Life”.

Although she’s performed for years live on stage in front of thousands she admits being on television is different yet familiar. Is performing on television very different from other venues? “Yes & no” says Sisaundra adding “If you don't allow yourself to be overwhelmed with the magnitude of how many people are REALLY watching via television and keep it intimate with the audience you're performing to in the moment, it makes it much easier.”

With all her experience does she ever suffer from stage fright? The singer admits that “YES” she does get stage fright. “I breathe and meditate” says Sisaundra who adds “I always have to center myself with prayer and the task at hand.” She is grateful for the support of her hometown fans saying “I'd just like to say thanks from the bottom of my heart for the ongoing support over the years. It took me 26 years to get here. Stay encouraged about achieving dreams. It's never too late and you're never too old. I'm a living witness to that.”

Sisaundra Lewis is truly in a "one in a trillion woman"! She’s got what it takes to go to the top and stay there. Be sure to watch Sisaundra compete again this week Monday and Tuesday 8/7c on NBC’s ‘The Voice’. And check out her music available on iTunes .
