Exclusive interview with Miss Pop backstage at Erin Fetherston Fall 2014

On Feb. 6, we had a chance to pop in backstage at Erin Fetherston and chat with the fab Simcha Whitehill aka Miss Pop on her nail art for the show. KISS curated the nails for the presentation.

Erin Fetherston Fall 2014
Miss Pop designed the look with KISS Nails.

What was your inspiration for the Nail art?

Miss Pop: Erin was inspired by Charm School, so we wanted the nail art to be chic, elegant and sophisticated but still girly, fun and feminine.

I noticed that the nails are not just painted but have letters and a shape in them. Can you tell me a little about that?

Miss Pop: Flappers created the first nail art, which was the half moon. We took it and refined it for Charm school and made it a mini moon. It's smaller, daintier and chic.

What trends are we seeing in nail art?

Miss Pop: What we are seeing that's new is the monogrammed nail. We took the signature E in Erin and put it on the nails. We also used Ruby Kiss nail polish in Madmoiselle and Kiss Nail Artist Stencil kit in white and black.

How do you feel about the collaboration with Erin?

Miss Pop: I always wanted to work with Erin because of my own retro style. She takes 50 and 60's silhouettes and style and makes them modern and fresh!
