Erica Mena has been very busy lately and she is all business. The feisty Latina singer and model has so many projects going that it's amazing she can keep up with them all. Recently Examiner had a chance to speak with the singer and star of “Love & Hip Hop” about her relationship, motherhood, her clothing line, music and what to expect on the next season of her hit VH1 reality show. Erica really opened up in this one-on-one interview and we think you'll be really interested in what she has to say.
Cyn Santana and the creation of “Her”
When speaking about her relationship with Cyn Santana, Mena assures her fans that the love is real. There have been many doubters that claim her bisexuality is a way to attract men but Erica says that is completely false. Not only does Erica Mena love Cyn Santana but she says she is in love too. Erica's line called “Her” is available on her website right now with plans to bring it to major retailers in the future. Please be sure to check out all she has to offer.
More music on the way
In addition to fashion, “Love & Hip Hop” fans know that Erica has been working hard on some new music. Her new EP is in the works right now and is expected to drop early next year. When asked if Rich Dollaz was involved in this most recent project, her answer was no. Matter of fact Erica said, “More doors opened up after I stopped working with Rich.”
On the sex tape rumor
Right after Mimi's sex tape made news another rumor soon followed that Erica was also “leaking a tape” through Vivid Entertainment. While the rumor was squashed almost as quickly as it started, it was just too tempting not to ask Erica how she thinks that rumor started and this is what she said. Apparently that rumor initially started with the other Erica from “Love & Hip Hop.” Remember Erica Jean who had a baby with Saigon? Then it morphed into an Erica Mena tape after Mediatakout reported on it. According to Mena and probably to the disappointment of many, there is no tape and it was all just a big rumor.
On Reality TV
Erica recently had some harsh words for fellow VH1 star Sundy Carter. When watching the reunion show, Erica tweeted out a few of her thoughts and started somewhat of a Twitter war. When asked about why Sundy's actions got her so hot compared to other Reality TV stars she gave up the good. Erica said that as a mother it bothered her to see the way Sundy treats her own child (referring to the stories that Sundy posted an indecent picture of her daughter to social media while the two were feuding.)
We also had a chance to dish about another favorite show, “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.” Erica Mena is certainly tuning in this season to her own VH1 show's Atlanta cousin. As far as the next season of “Love & Hip Hop: New York,” Erica will be back and is excited for her fans to see her album and fashion line come together throughout the course of the season.
