Examiner (Anthony Bowles): How are you?
Jade Novah: “I’m doing very well! Thank you.”
Examiner (Anthony Bowles): Congrats on the new single, “Show Out” what does this song mean for you?
Jade Novah: “Thank you, this record means everything to me! “Show Out” is my introduction to the world as an independent artist. I have spent all of 2012 putting my own theatrical spin on popular records by other artists, but now the time has finally come for me to debut my original material. I couldn’t be more elated!"
Examiner (Anthony Bowles):RyanSeacrest.com gives the song great praise, how does that feel?
Jade Novah: “It feels amazing...especially as an indie artist. There is nothing like having that support and receiving that positive feedback from such a prestigious media outlet. I’m so grateful for RyanSeacrest.com and all of the other blogs, radio stations, and magazines that have been supporting my record."
Examiner (Anthony Bowles): How has Atlanta been treating you?
Jade Novah: “It’s so funny, I actually JUST tweeted about this. I moved to Atlanta in September of 2011, and the support that ATL has shown is unbelievable! They have really embraced me and treated me like one of their own. I’ll always be a Cleveland girl, but I feel truly blessed to be able to call Atlanta my home away from home!"
Examiner (Anthony Bowles): When can your fans expect your first solo album?
Jade Novah: “As of right now, there isn’t an official release date for my album, “In Search of Me.” My main focus at the moment is promoting “Show Out” as hard and efficiently as possible. However, you can definitely expect”In Search of Me” before the end of 2013!"
Examiner (Anthony Bowles): What details can you provide about the upcoming project?
Jade Novah: I have a passion for singing and songwriting, as well as acting, and I wanted a way to fuse those passions together. My producer, Devin Johnson and I began the process of creating the album by writing an actual storyline. We then wrote the songs and created the music to TELL that story. “In Search of Me” is what I like to call ‘visuals through sound’ because the album paints the picture of a story through the music."
Examiner (Anthony Bowles): Will there be any collaborations?
Jade Novah: “As far as producers on the album, I’ve collaborated with the executive producer, Devin Johnson, along with Young Fyre, Bridge, and Mayo. There will also be an artist feature from the super talented David Sebastian! "
Examiner (Anthony Bowles): How has your style/music evolved over the years?
Jade Novah: “I honestly just started my journey as a solo artist in January of 2012. Up until then I played around with the idea of being an artist, but was mainly focused on writing for other people. It didn’t really take long for me to discover my style, which is a fusion of Broadway and R&B. It happened organically because I simply wanted to be true to who I am as person and have that reflect my style of music. As a writer, I have definitely evolved into more of a storyteller. Writing for my own project allows me to write a little more outside of the box."
Examiner (Anthony Bowles): What is currently on your i-Pod?
Jade Novah: “Believe it or not, a lot of Disney Classics. I get a lot of my inspiration from the music of Disney. Lately Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, Brandy, Adele, and Tye Tribbett have been in heavy rotation. My dad just bought me Imagine Dragon’s latest album, so I’m getting ready to put them into the rotation as well."
Examiner (Anthony Bowles): Celebrity crush?
Jade Novah: “Prince.”
Examiner (Anthony Bowles): Your song of the summer?
Jade Novah: “Definitely “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke. I dance EVERY TIME is comes on (laughs)”
Examiner (Anthony Bowles): Lastly, what can your fans look forward to from you?
Jade Novah: “My supporters, who I like to call ‘NOVAHcanes,’ can expect more visuals and more original content! Not just music, but I want to release more acting sketches as well, and eventually turn my upcoming album “In Search of Me” into a film and stage production!"
