As you have seen in my other Phoenix Work From Home Examiner Articles, I love to Interview Home Business Owners and Individuals who work from home. My base for this is to share a true background, story and personal touch to knowing there can be success working from home. Also to show that there are many ways to work from home, just never give up and keep searching as many of these Individual's including myself have found our passion and we know you will also.
We had the pleasure of interviewing Elizabeth Castro, proud Representative and Home Business Owner with Forever Living Products. She is an amazing woman with a big heart who has many dreams to accomplish and is well on her way! She has been on her work at home search for quite awhile now and has finally found her true passion. Now she is making it her purpose to help others do the same. Elizabeth has had many obstacles that she has had to overcome but is proof that if you never give up and keep on going for your dreams, you will get there!
We wanted to share a bit of this Exclusive Interview with you:
Jennifer May: Tell us a little about yourself and your background.
Elizabeth Castro: I am a mother to 3 girls and 1 boy, been married for 22 years and I live in Central Florida. I spent my 8th grade to 2nd year in college in Mississippi living on a farm and had a pet cow named Betsy, and a pet pig named PeeWee. I am an animal lover. Dogs are my favorite. I have 2 poodles and a daschund right now. I just love the unconditional love an animal gives it's owner.
I took computers and nursing in college, but I decided to move to NJ with my parents and never re- enrolled in college when I got there. Instead I started working at the Resorts International Casino and Hotel. I was a pit clerk responsible for putting in players ratings and printing markers (checks) for players that had a line of credit with the casino. After leaving the Casino I was employeed by Prudential Insurance Company where I started out as a claims examiner and moved my way up to Assistant Supervisor over the hospital claims unit. I also held all the training classes for new employees and wrote their technical manuals that helped each unit within the company have a better understanding of the proper way to process claims.
After having my 3rd child and making a move to Virginia I stayed home with my children up until my 4th child started kindergarten. That is when I returned to work at an RV Dealership setting service appointments, filing warranty claims, and helping out in the parts store. I have done this job at 4 dealerships for the past 12 years.
Jennifer May: What was your reason for wanting to work from home?
Elizabeth Castro: One of the reasons I want to work from home is to get back the time I miss spending with my kids. They have grown up so fast. I feel I've missed so much with them. Though they are older children, 1 has moved on her own, 1 graduated, and 2 suppose to graduate this year I still feel I am missing so much. I enjoyed staying with them when they were younger and if I had found something to do from home back then I would of jumped at the chance. The other reason I am wanting to work from home is because I have just been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. With my job I am in contact with many people, bending, stretching, and standing for long periods of time. It's getting harder and harder to bear it some days. Working from home will be a great opportunity to work, make money and get myself back to a healthy state. From home I can sit or lay or take that break when needed without having to explain why I am doing it.
Jennifer May: What would you say was your most difficult obstacle to overcome when building your business?
Elizabeth Castro: A big obstacle that I overcame was allowing myself to ignore the people that told me I can't do that and make a living, you won't make it. You get a lot of negative reactions from friends and family who should be your biggest supporters. It is up to you to ovecome this obstacle as it can be one of the hardest obstacles to overcome.
Jennifer May: If you had one piece of advice to give someone who is searching for their perfect work from home opportunity or job... what would that be?
Elizabeth Castro: Biggest piece of advice is listen to yourself. If you don't feel it's a good move then don't do it. There are many opportunities out there and you have to keep on pushing until you find the one that is the perfect fit for you not someone else. Don't listen to the hype and the negativity. Research and listen to the voice inside you that guides and directs you. You will be more successful if you do for your reasons and why not someone elses. Don't give up.
Jennifer May: What is your favorite part about working from home?
Elizabeth Castro: A big favorite to working from home is you can set your schedule. You work around you not your boss.
