At the end of last month, in the back room behind the stage at the Catalyst Club in Santa Cruz, Calif. We had the chance to catch up with one half of the dub step power duo “Adventure Club” Having recently rocked a handful of festivals such as Coachella, Sunset Music, and EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival) NY, it was a rare treat for the small surf town and it’s surrounding cities (since this was AC’s only bay area show) for Adventure Club’s Leighton to throw down on the decks for an amazing night of heavy bass and good vibes.
Christian (the other half of Adventure Club), couldn’t make it out to the show, because he was going through physical rehab for his back, but Leighton was more than enough to keep the dance floor jumping until the midnight hour. With hundreds of sweaty barely legal college bodies rubbing up against one another, and popping up in unison after each drop, Leighton had pure control over the room. With each hit off Adventure Club’s EP, such as “Gold” or “Wonder”, the crowd was filled with intense bliss.
Although we talked with the duo right before the new year, Leighton was nice enough to sit down with us (and share his pizza!) to talk about the differences of touring clubs vs festivals, the production of their latest video for “Wonder” the status of the new album, what his favorite moments of 2014 have been so far and some other cool trivia bites.
Adventure Club will be touring like crazy all summer and playing various Festivals as well as hopefully releasing a new full length album towards the end of the year so definitely keep an eye out. They also just released a new remix of Max Elto’s “Shadow Of The Sun” which can be heard here!
