What has Sara Stokes been up to?

In the decade since "Making the Band 2" ended and "Da Band" split up, Sara Stokes has been notably absent from the spotlight. Sara did do a bit of acting after the show but considering her amazing pipes, she is certainly one of those singers that shouldn't have disappeared as she did. When asked about her hiatus, Sara explained that she had small children when she was filming for MTV. The busier she became with her entertainment career, the less she saw of her family. It's hard to juggle both lives as a young mother and when she started missing birthdays and holidays, she decided to focus on her family.

An update on the family

When asked about her family, Sara was quick to tell me how great her children are doing. Sara Stokes' children are older now. Her oldest son Elijah is headed to Michigan State in the fall. Sara says he looks like Prince so we snuck a peak at some pictures and he sure does! If they ever need a young Prince for a biopic, he would be a shoe in to fill that role. She also has a 17-year old daughter who is on the honor roll and making everyone proud. Her youngest daughter seems to be following in her mother's footsteps. She has been doing some modeling (and does an amazing job) and also seems to have inherited her mom's vocal ability. She is definitely a proud mom and has done an amazing job.

A new movie and music in the works

Sara Stokes has been working hard on many projects lately so be sure to keep an eye out. In just a couple weeks she begins filming her new movie, "Facade." It's about a group of vigilante women with guns and Sara says we've never seen her in a role like this before. Expect to see a release sometime next year.

Stokes also has new music coming out. This is what fans have been waiting for and it should definitely be worth a listen. When asked what single will be released first, Sara says she just doesn't know. She has so much great music coming out, it will be really hard to choose.

When talking about which producers she is working with there were quite a few including Timbaland. Sara says she really wants to work with Diddy again. He is the one who believed in her and gave her a start. She really has respect for him and would love to give it another go.

We couldn't talk about Diddy without having a laugh over the infamous cheesecake incident during the filming of "Making the Band." Remember when Diddy made the group walk to Brooklyn to bring him back a slice of cheesecake? Sara says that was the longest walk she has ever taken in her life. It was worth it though, she would have walked anywhere to prove to Diddy how bad she wanted that gig.

Marathon running

Now she doesn't walk though, she runs. The singing starlet has become the spokesperson for Diva Half Marathon and 5k Series and recently just ran her first two with the group. She's been running since she was 12 years old and loves to get out and pound the pavement. She said the first half-marathon she ran with Diva Marathons was the first time she had ever run that far. When asked if it was the hardest, she says no. That walk to Brooklyn for cheesecake takes top prize.

Some things haven't changed

For starters, Sara doesn't look a day older than when she was filming "Making the Band." When that was brought up, Sara says she loves skin care so much that she went back to school. She is licensed in aesthetics and wants to put together her own skincare line. To that we say "bring it!" Whatever she is doing, well it works.

For all the years that Sara Stokes hasn't been soaking up her fair share of the spotlight, she is definitely making up for lost time. From movies, to music and marathon running, Stokes' is so busy it's a wonder even she can keep up with herself.
