Brand new production company, "Iconic Productions" has announced exclusively to the National Indie Film Examiner two new projects.
The first is "Dormant" which will film in Seattle, Wash.
Synopsis: "Dormant"
- Three years after receiving the Nobel Prize, Dr. Arnold Mormon uses a machine he built to make Mount Helen, an active super-volcano threatening to erupt any time, into a dormant mountain. Jake O'Connor, a student at the University of Washington, Seattle majoring in physics realizes that volcanoes never actually go dormant. After seeing a report about drilling on Mount Helen, Jake starts snooping around. He finds blueprints for the machine. As O'Connor examines the blueprints it becomes clear to him that there is a fatal flaw. There is a vital piece missing from Dr. Mormon's machine. When it's announced that the doctor is giving a talk at the university, Jake decides to confront him with his knowledge that the volcano could still blow at any minute, especially if there is digging going on near the mountain. Failing with Dr. Mormon, Jake recruits his friends, Mary Beth and Jensen to building the missing piece themselves. If they fail and Mount Helen erupts, the world will become a vast wasteland of ice as the ashes block out the sun.
No word yet on when production will begin and a director is currently in negotiations. Other actors are also currently in talks to star in the film; Mary-Beth and Jensen are going to be cast first. This film will be another 'Vehicle' for Matt Nicholas, star of upcoming film, "The Preacher's Son" (2014), who will take on the role of Jake O'Connor. Brittany Cereghino will Executive Produce the film alongside Matt Nicholas who will serve as a producer. The film's budget has been recently set at $70M, but is subject to be changed as the development phase progresses.
