After losing 75 pounds on her own, Peg Bradford knows just how hard it can be to shed weight and keep it off. Now she's hoping to help others with her Facebook group. She took time out for an exclusive interview with us to reveal her diet and fitness tips, plus her favorite diet recipe.
Peg's turning point occurred when she weighed 225 pounds. "I was in the dressing room trying clothes on and they no longer fit, AGAIN, and I was crying and said that I was not going to the next level. I came home and told my husband that I needed to do something about this."
And Peg definitely "did something" by creating her own food and exercise plan. She used portion control, cut out soda and implemented a pedometer into her life.
"I purchased a pedometer and aim for between 20,000-30,000 steps a day. I created my own exercise routine, jogging in place while using weights. I also run, and do whatever I can to get those steps in."
One year later and 75 pounds lighter, Peg has formed a Facebook group to help others.
"We currently have over 13,000 amazing people from around the world in our group. We have men, woman, tweens and seniors. I have high school kids in my group all the way up to 75 to 80 year-olds."
There's one very important rule to join: Be positive. No bullying, no negative comments are allowed in her group "Steps to Good Health."
Peg keeps her tips simple so that people can follow them. You can try her "apple pie" recipe below.
