Examiner.com was on the scene at the star studded presentation of Angela Simmons’ clothing line, AngelaIAM, which was hosted at a beautiful space called 404 lit with black lights and today on Feb. 15 we are excited to share what went down. The ambiance was very fun and high energy with a great crowd. TJ Mizell and Damein Esobar provided entertainment throughout the evening. Refreshments were provided by Sugar Factory and Cupcakes by Melissa. Delicious bite-sized cupcakes and candies were passed out for all the enjoy. Guests also enjoyed an open bar.
A photo booth was also available for attendees to tweet photos and also print copies of these pics for memories. The event was hosted by Monster, so there was an area for attendees to experience a demonstration of their headphones. The headphones are beautifully designed and feature noise cancellation to ensure that the audio is not polluted with background noise. Guests were able to experience "Pure Monster Sound" for themselves from the Limited Edition Diamondz Collection from the company’s critically-acclaimed Diamond Tears premium headphone line, as well as the award-winning NTunes Neon Collection.
Angela Simmons is the star of two hit shows, and the daughter of the famous rap artist and Reverend Run of Run-DMC. She has created an amazing shoe line, Patry and in addition to that she created a stunning collection with a mix of avant-guard street elements and classic shapes. She hopes that her work will inspire many to start their own businesses.
The AngelaIAM "Electric Daze" Fall 2014 collection is a plethora of vibrant colors on dresses with classic shapes and lengths. The dresses are professional knee and tea lengths, but with a modernized angular design and neon colors. The collection also provided much variety for different comfort levels. There were more conservative looks that were monochrome separates, while there was also an elaborately embellished bodysuit and graphic body conscious dresses.
The neon colors unified the collection, but also elevated the simple silhouettes in such a way that it was chic and interesting. The collection also featured some menswear with harem pants in candy colors and graphic leather jackets. It also featured some transparent angular clutches in basic and cotton candy colors.
The diversity of the collection is unique as one does not usually see menswear and women’s wear in the same collection. Also the looks from this collection range from effortless and wearable to very bold and avant-guarde.
Of course there were hints of street style in the collection, which are present in her other shoe lines. Simmons has created a breathtaking collection this season which demonstrates her point of view as an artist. We hope that she continues to create these unique collections for years to come.
