Exclusive First Listen: Beats Antique - "Skeleton Key" (Photos)

Hailing from the Bay Area, Beats Antique is ready to unleash their genre-defying sound onto the masses with a new album. We have an exclusive first listen to their new track “Skeleton Key” off of their upcoming release Contraption Vol. 2, due September 18th.

This trio gives everyone from the Coachella kids to the Burning Man burners something to jive to on their new single as the music swings low before forcing some serene mediation into your psyche. Anyone tired of “four on the floor” cheap EDM will appreciate this well-crafted gem. Their knowledge of worldly sounds creates a global layer of audio experiences, staying away from traditional “beat making” in order to excite the listeners imagination.

Beats Antique will make a stop in Los Angeles on September 7th, rocking Club Nokia on their way across the country before topping off their fall in Egypt. This “Animale Mechanique” tour (no, it’s not a French Marilyn Manson tribute band) should solidify this group as strong pillars in the rapidly growing electronic music scene, although their particular talents should put them in a class all their own. Their live performances meld their music with a type of half-burlesque, half-vaudeville, all-circus experience with dancers and other performers bringing the music to life.
