Exclusive: Chris Mann seizes success with new music 6 months after 'The Voice' (Photos)

Chris Mann has become a familiar face on the music scene. The entertainer sang to America during several Christmas specials and even braved the cold in New York City for Christmas in Rockefeller Center. Life for the former The Voice contestant is good and his future is packed with opportunities as he sings for the fans. On Wednesday he even dished that the second album (which won’t be released for a while) already has a co-written song but for now it is all about the new Roads album. Examiner.com sat down with Chris Mann this week for an exclusive interview to talk to him about his new Roads album, upcoming tour and his PBS special in March.

Chris Mann’s enthusiasm for his work is unwavering. Getting the chance to be part of the music scene he lets his fans know exactly where he might be so they can watch. On NBC, TNT and even on the Today morning show, the star has traveled extensively promoting his Christmas music and he always keeps his Twitter updated as the star is well known in the music business and people want to hear him sing.

So bring us up to speed, what’s happening with your career right now?

Chris Mann: The Voice ended six month ago. The last six months I made two records. A Christmas EP for Walmart and my new album Roads.

How would you describe Roads to your fans?

Chris Mann: It’s a collaboration of everything I love about music. It’s got something for everyone.

How was it singing for President Obama at Christmas in Washington?

Chris Mann: It was an amazing opportunity. I got to meet him prior to the ceremony and got the nerves out of the way. I was completely star struck. It was a beautiful night.

How was it to work with Christina Aguilera instead of being mentored by her on The Voice?

Chris Mann: I didn't want to ask too much. There was a beautiful opportunity to work with her on the album and it worked out well.

What one piece of advice would you offer to someone who might decide to try a reality show like The Voice?

Chris Mann: Be authentic as possible. You have to be your own self. Own your voice and own your artistic moment.

What are your plans for 2013?

Chris Mann: The big news is a full PBS special. That is a huge part of 2013. Chris Mann in Concert: A Mann of all Season will be in March. Touring too…check my website for the dates.
