In our continued effort to bring the metal and punk scene to the masses so to say we give you another edition of our Celeb Metal Head of the Week interviews. This week are pleased to have with us the talented actress, sports entertainer and model Lana Kinnear or as wrestling fans would know her the longest WOW champion Lana Star.
Examiner (Keith Ashley): Hi Lana, Thanks for doing this interview, for the average reader tell us a little about yourself.
Lana Kinnear: I'm an actress model and pro wrestler I'm currently on the revived show WOW Women of Wrestling.
Examiner: What band or bands got you interested in the hard rock & metal world?
Lana Kinnear: Originally older stuff like Megadeth, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, Guns n' Roses etc.
Examiner: Great bands, I think a lot of us in the scene started with those. What was the best concert you have ever attended as well as your best concert memory?
Lana Kinnear: I have so many different ones but probably being back stage before a Guns n' Roses concert and my friend and I had left our passes somewhere and the venue security started flipping out, Guns n' Roses tour manager walked over and said "you tell Axl Rose they're not allowed back here and you won't be having a show tonight" then we got to sit on the stage during the show it was kind of awesome.
Examiner: What band or bands would you have loved to see live but never had the chance?
Lana Kinnear: I think I have seen pretty much everyone I wanted to, luckily living in L.A. almost everyone plays here. I have gone to a lot of concerts!
Examiner: You’re one lucky girl to have seen so many top acts. How do you feel metal/punk music can get the ever important “push” in today’s world of prefabricated acts & cookie cutter talent show pop acts?
Lana Kinnear: It's hard to say, there's a lot of bands that are doing quite well that I like. Don't get me wrong I would love if metal, hard rock or punk was super popular but even if some of them got a huge push it doesn't mean the masses are going to like them there's just so many different niches in the world today and so much variety that all the pieces of the pie are smaller. Also I always hear a lot of bands complaining that so and so is popular because of one reason or another and sometimes I just want to say well maybe "you guys just aren't that good" LOL. Also a lot of bands need to do the work promote, do whatever tours they can get on and even work on their image, especially if they want to appeal to younger kids.
Examiner: Great points Lana. Thanks again is there anything else you’d like to tell the readers?
Lana Kinnear: Please check out my website , Facebook, and don't forget to follow me on Twitter.
