EXCLUSIVE: Beatles reps say don't believe Olympics reunion stories

These news stories about a "possible" reunion with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are coming fast and furious, aren't they? Well, let us be the first to tell you -- they aren't true. You heard it here first.

How do we know? We did something no one else has apparently done. We asked the representatives for Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney. And both told us emphatically the stories are not true.

"Just tabloid stuff," McCartney's rep said.

"This is not true," Ringo's rep said.

The "reports," which apparently originated with the UK Sun, have evolved into involving Beatles offspring. Through a friend, we also contacted Julian Lennon, who also said it wasn't true.

Lennon later posted this on his Facebook page"There will NEVER be a Beatles reunion, because two of the members of the band have since passed... And NO ONE could, or should try to replace them... End of.... x."

The Sun quoted an anonymous insider, "Macca was just being coy about the details. He has been speaking to organisers and has said he'd love to be involved with the games in some way. The organisers want The Beatles legend to appear alongside other big British acts. And they want Ringo on stage as well to make it extra special. There's also the possibility that George Harrison and John Lennon could be represented by their kids."

This isn't the first time these kind of rumors have been proven false. And it probably won't be the last.
