Taisha Bethea is heading to Hollywood after Wednesday night’s American Idol audition. Impressing the four celebrity judges, she made it through to the next round and she did it with some help from her friends. Taisha Bethea is part of Carson, an indie band based in North Carolina. The lead singer of the group has some tremendous vocal pipes plus unwavering support of her band mates who play with her on stage. The five came together in North Carolina for an indie sound that has the attention of locals. Taking a minute for Examiner.com, we got an exclusive interview with guitarist Peter Stipicevic who dished on the opportunity Taisha has in the reality singing competition.
While most of the fans were watching the actual interview for Taisha Bethea, the band Carson was seen too. Setting up the cameras for a couple of hours, the band was able to practice as the film rolled so fans of the show could see how serious Taisha Bethea really was about winning. The cameras also caught the five member band rocking out, which is what the artists do every week.
“It was a surreal experience,” said Peter Stipicevic to Examiner.com for this exclusive interview. “American Idol came out to our band practice. Carson has come a long way and we now practice in a warehouse and the world will see this. It was really cool.”
Fans watching American Idol on Wednesday night saw Carson practice just like they do every week on Monday and Wednesday. Looking to share the best alternative rock, the band plays often and loves to travel to share the music. While the gigs are scheduled, the music is free flowing when it comes to the practice sessions and it shows as the artists were extremely focused.
“We hope she does great in the competition,” said Peter Stipicevic who knows the members of Carson are thinking the same thing. Hoping for a win and wanting her to hit Hollywood, it appears the journey for the lead singer is just beginning. “Obviously we expect her to do well.”
Carson, along with lead singer Taisha Bethea can be heard on iTunes. The band has a wide variety of tunes that even impressed American Idol to highlight. The band hopes the exposure of Taisha Bethea vocals to the country will get more interest in Carson. It’s obvious that American Idol doesn't just showcase vocalists from any one genre and no matter how far she goes in the competition it will help Carson too.
