(On Friday I had the opportunity to participate in a conference call with the latest castoffs from "American Idol." This interview is just one part of a series.)

Michelle Delamor didn't necessarily receive a ton of screen time for much of the early portion of "American Idol," but she still has plenty to be excited about. She made it to the top 20, got herself an "in" to the music industry, and even had the opportunity to meet one of her idols: Michael Jackson vocal arranger Dorian Holley.
Before discussing her passions, Michelle talked about how screen time may have played a role in her exit:
"I know they had a commercial of me before the season started, saying 'meet Michelle.' That was really nice! I know I don't have the story of some of the others [contestants]...I've had a pretty normal life."
She then went on to talk about about how her love for Michael Jackson led to one of her most memorable moments. After admitting she'd seen "This Is It" five times in the theater, she had the opportunity to work with Holly during some of the later rounds, which was just part of what ultimately became an "amazing experience" for her.
Following her stint on "Idol," Delamor (a Florida native) looks to be spending some time in Los Angeles in hopes of continuing work in the music industry. She was a shocking departure on Thursday, and we can hope for nothing but the best from this energetic, optimistic young performer.
