There are unfortunate predicaments and there are strange situations, but then there are the times that you get yourself into both at the same time. It took a total of five emergency vehicles and 22 firefighters to help rescue and free an exchange student that got himself stuck in a giant stone vagina sculpture in Germany, per The Metro on June 22, 2014.
Yes, a giant stone vagina.
Before the start of the weekend, an American exchange student ended up getting stuck inside of the giant statue which sits on the campus of Tübingen University Institute of Microbiology in Tübingen, Germany. It was all a bit of a joke to start, but things took a turn quickly.
Erick Guzman was on the scene with the exchange student and he's the one that got the pictures and posted them on Imgur. From there, they went viral.
There was no harm intended according to Guzman.
"I was there!!! He just wanted to take a funny picture."
Some reports state that the exchange student did it on a dare.
It may have seemed like all fun and games, but after getting the pictures, the unnamed student realized he was stuck. His legs and feet got wedged in the bottom of the vagina sculpture and he simply couldn't get out. That was when help was called for.
"The fire department was not really amused, and he was really embarrassed," posted Guzman.
Once arriving on the scene, it took the numerous firefighters a a while to get the student unstuck from the sculpture, but it eventually happened, and he was free to go.
The sculpture is actually called Pi-Chacan, which translates from Peruvian-Indian as "love making." It was created by a Peruvian artist named Fernando de la Jara. It's actually been in place on the German campus for the past 13 years.
According to records, this is the first time that someone has gotten stuck inside the giant stone vagina sculpture.
