Examining the mysteries of the dinosaurs

In studying and proclaiming the creation of this universe by an omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent Spirit God, we are sometimes asked if we believe in dinosaurs. What kind of senseless question is that? Of course I believe in dinosaurs. I also believe in horses, dogs and in humans. Why would anyone wish to deny something with the overwhelming proof that exists concerning the fossil record of dinosaurs? There have been discoveries of huge beds of skeletal remains of dinosaurs.

Many staunch evolutionists attempt to use the dinosaurs to prove their evolution hypothesis. It won't work. The dinosaurs furnish far more evidence of creation. Whereas the evolutionist attempts to show that these numerous, now extinct animals evolved into other creatures, there is no evidence of this whatsoever. In fact, their abrupt demise and the conditions of their fossil remains comprise one of the strongest evidences for a global flood.

Dinosaurs were buried rapidly. They are sometimes found in large numbers, and often have distinct stream orientation, which means that they were washed into position by a flood. Scientists say that floods often happened in the plains where the dinosaurs lived. However, dinosaur fossil beds sometimes stretch over thousands of square kilometers. These beds are not made from small, seasonal floods. (Dinosaurs and the flood)

Dinosaurs are, without doubt, mentioned in the Holy Bible even though some attempt to say they are not. It is readily noticeable that verse 21 in the first chapter of Genesis, includes references to such creatures. Although most versions translate this as whales or other huge sea creatures, the original word, “tannin”, carried a far more general meaning which would encompass land creatures as well as sea creatures. Young’s Literal Translation words verse thusly:

And God prepareth the great monsters, and every living creature that is creeping, which the waters have teemed with, after their kind, and every fowl with wing, after its kind, and God seeth that [it is] good. (Genesis 1:21 YLT)

So, as written in the original, this could well have meant any extraordinary large or fearsome creature. The translators for the King James Version had never heard the name of dinosaur, since the first fossils of these creatures were first discovered some 200 years ago. They translated it as whales since this was the largest creature they knew of.

It is also known that two such huge creatures are named in the book of Job, chapters 40 and 41, without describing them. Yet, what else could such references have in mind? Read the two chapters concerning the “behemoth” and “leviathan.” So, we can readily see that the existence of the now extinct dinosaurs in no way, proves evolution, but lends far more credence to the global flood catastrophe as well as the references to the animals themselves.
