Examiner.com takes YA coverage to the next level

The world has seen the popularity of YA fiction. This is obvious in the rise of YA book to film projects (probably thanks to the ‘Twilight Effect’) and the media certainly doesn’t miss an opportunity to cover this phenomenon. Now Examiner.com is taking YA coverage to the next level. Really this is your chance for a one-stop-shop for all your favorite YA books and movies.

Twilight Examiner, Amanda Bell has co-administered the Facebook page, YA Fics and Flicks. You can also follow it on Twitter. Here content will be shared by YA focused Examiners such as the Twilight Examiner, Hunger Games Examiner, Divergent Examiner, and Vampire Diaries Examiner. There is also the new National YA Fiction Examiner, operated by Amanda Bell, which will cover YA without obvious columns.

Pretty exciting, right? Be sure and “like” YA Fics and Flicks on Facebook, follow it on Twitter.

Bell has covered Twilight topics for four years. She’s definite changes in her topic and the industry during that time. “It's pretty awesome to think of how much of a difference that time has made for the fanbase. At first, everything seemed very combative. Twilight fans were often the punch line of jokes and categorized as screaming teens,” explains Bell. As time went on, though, they began to receive respect or at least neutral media attention, and at this point, the film world is watching to see whether their passions will extend to other series. I'm hopeful that the trend of treating young and/or female audiences well and realizing there is a place for them in the business will continue.”
