This week we have a new No. 1 in Division II-AA after Ensworth beat Brentwood Academy on the road in impressive fashion 37-17 as junior running back Corn Elder had 405 yards of total offense (249 rushing, 156 receiving) and four touchdowns for the Tigers.
With the impressive road win, the Tigers go from No. 3 to No. 1 leapfrogging No. 2 Baylor, also the win for Ensworth puts first place in the region in a three way tie as Ensworth, Baylor and Brentwood Academy all have one loss.
The upset Classification this week was 4A as four teams then No. 3 Livingston Academy, then No. 4 Red Bank, then No. 5 Covington and then No. 6 Giles County all suffered upset losses and dropped in the polls with Giles completely dropping out of the top 10.
Covington is now No. 8, Livingston Academy is No. 9 and Red Bank is No. 10 while Chester County reenters the poll at No. 6 and Dyersburg enters for the first time at No. 7.
Siegel No. 9 and Science Hill at No. 10 enter the 6A poll replacing Blackman and Independence while Elizabethton reenters the 3A poll replacing Polk County.
Class 1A, 2A, 5A and both private school divisions in Division II-A and AA had the Top 10 intact as no one dropped out of the Top 10.
