We recently got a chance to catch up with Singer, Rapper, and Actor Kaiser Soze to talk Music, his forthcoming New Album and more… Check it out below:

Who Is Kaiser Soze aka Lane Street?

I’m a 23-year-old Rap Artist, Singer and Actor from Minneapolis, Minnesota. I guess I would describe myself as an ambitious and big thinker. Kaiser Soze to me is also a mix of ingredients, made up of myself, the team around me, and the many different styles of music I grew up on before landing on Hip-Hop.

Is music your first love?

Absolutely. Music has been on the forefront of my life for as long as I can remember. I started singing and playing piano at the age of 7 or 8, and stuck with music ever since in many different avenues.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music?

I think I have a bit of a unique sound. I grew up inspired by the many talented underground artists from my city such as Atmosphere, Eydea and Abilities, Muja Messiah and Brother Ali. So I think it’s a mix of that with my mainstream ambitions.

Who are some of your musical influences?

There is a very broad spectrum of artists I’m inspired by from John Legend to Elvis. As far as Hip-Hop goes, I’m a big fan of the classics; Big L, KRS-one, The Beastie Boyz, and the new school -Lil Wayne and Jay-Z.

When writing, what inspires you or where do you gain your inspiration?

I draw most of my inspiration from personal experience, but it can be as simple as how my day is going as well. I make my music to fit my mood or current situation, kind of like an update.

Have you ever doubted yourself or your career?

I’ve doubted pretty much everything but that. I always felt once I got the right team behind me, it would all work out and if you doubt yourself, you’re doomed to fail. There have definitely been times I’ve been tired or discouraged, but I always believed in myself and the people around me.

Outside of music, is there anything else you’re interested in?

Not a whole lot…Besides music, it’s family and close friends. Can’t afford to waste time.

If we were to go through your iPod (or any music player), who are some artists that we would find on your playlist?

John Legend, Lana Del Rey, The Weeknd, Drake, Red Hot Chili Peppers and a bunch of 90′s Hip-Hop.

Upcoming projects or events?

I am currently just finishing up album I am very excited about…Can’t say exactly when the release is, but it will be soon. Aside from that, we are gearing up for several shows. I am also working on some stuff with Eric Bellinger, who I was blessed to meet at SXSW in Austin, TX.

What can your fans expect from Kaiser Soze in 2014?

A whole lot. New music, shows, and we are working on a clothing line with our partners at Lawless Denim and Co. This will be a year full of surprises!

What is the best advice you’ve been given?

“Team work makes the dream work” - Plain and simple.

Current Single?

You can find my current single, “In Yo Face” featuring Problem on iTunes.
