For a second straight week, the LSU Tigers received every first-place vote cast in the latest Examiner.com College Football Power Rankings, as voted on by a select panel of college football writers for Examiner.com.
Just as they are in the BCS rankings, Alabama is second in our power rankings and they have some breathing room in front of Stanford, who moves up a spot this week following a win against Notre Dame and Arkansas losing to LSU. Arkansas slips down to ninth in our rankings following their Thanksgiving weekend defeat at LSU, which may have been pretty harsh.
Oklahoma State moves up a spot, from fifth to fourth, and Virginia Tech jumps to fifth from seventh, passing Houston, after a convincing victory in the Governor's Cup game against Virginia. Houston, despite a solid victory on the road at Tulsa, remains sixth in the power rankings. Boise State moved up a spot to seventh and Oregon moves up a spot to eighth. Oklahoma remains tenth in this week's power rankings for a second week.
