Nicholas K kicked off the tent shows at Lincoln Center on Thursday with its Fall/Winter 2013 collection.Sibling design duo Nicholas and Christopher Kunz drew inspiration from the age of artic exploration in the late 19th and early 20th centuries to create their Fall/Winter 2013/2014 collection.
With an artic color pallete that seemed to play off the months of light and months of darkness of the area its inspired by, the duo sent layered looks down the runway featuring Lightweight fluttering materials, wool blends, light flowing knitwear, chunky sweaters, furs and leathers. Shifted drapery, asymetrical tailoring and angular cuts with utilitarian closures give a nod to the explorers of the past but with a very modern feel.
