The exact release date may have been listed for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt." According to an update from Amazon France on June 1, the open-world action role-playing game is expected to be shipping in Europe on Feb. 27, 2015. CD Projekt Red, the developer of the video game, confirmed in the past that the project will be coming out sometime during the second month of next year.
Feb. 27 is a Friday, which is when most software products are launched in the European regions. The same titles are usually released three days earlier on Tuesdays in North America. Therefore, "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" released date could theoretically end up being Feb. 24 in the United States.
The sequel was set to come out later this year before the delay announcement. A representative from the studio explained the postponement by simply declaring that more time was needed. Instead of adding new contents, however, CD Projekt Red is going to spend the extra time on trying to polish the existing elements of the project.
"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" is the biggest project coming from the studio. The development team decided to go with an open-world setting as players can wander around the vast lands of the sequel to go on hunts and complete other types of missions. Some of the actions and decisions taken by the main character can also change the landscape of certain areas. The future of a village, for instance, is dependent on which direction the player decided to take during a certain quest.
"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" has three different publisher. CD Projekt Red is self-publishing the title in Poland while distribution to the rest of the European regions (as well as Australia) is being handled by Bandai Namco Games. Finally, Warner Bros. Interactive is the North American publisher. A screen of the open-world action role-playing game from the Facebook page of the series can be seen with the photo located near the top of the article.
