After spending 2012 on the FBI's "Ten Most Wanted'' fugitives list, Eric Toth, 32, was sentenced to 25 years in prison on March 11, after pleading guilty last Dec. to “to three counts of producing child pornography, identity theft and misuse of a Social Security number.”

Toth was a former Washington, DC school teacher who left the USA in 2008 before he could be arrested for being in possession of child porn images found on his school camera, according to NBC News in Washington.

After five years on the lam, authorities caught up with him in Nicaragua in April 2013.

Toth taught at the private elementary school, Beauvoir, for three years before another school employee reported him to officials for being in possession of child porn images.

He was escorted from the school, located on the grounds of the National Cathedral, in 2008.

In addition to the images found on his school-owned camera, it was reported that “pictures of at least three other boys being touched inappropriately were found on a flash drive.”

In addition to acknowledging that he placed a camera in a bathroom at the Beauvoir school, where he captured video of 15 children, he acknowledged that as a camp counselor in Wisconsin in 2005 he took photos and video of a camper. He also took photos and video of a child in Maryland.

At his sentencing today, Toth told the federal judge that "I know I've hurt people, a lot of people.''

"I've really contributed to making the world a kind of place I don't want to live in,'' said Toth, who was added to the FBI's Most Wanted list in 2012, where he filled a vacancy created by Osama bin Laden's death.

Toth also said that he planned to spend his prison time productively, "trying to do penance in whatever humble ways I can.''

Upon his release from prison, Toth will remain on supervised release for the rest of his life.
