Many recall Maxine Jones as the petite member with the soulful powerful voice of R&B female quartet En Vogue. But, according to EUR on Monday March 17 that may soon change as reports state that Maxine Jones is readying her solo album and is set to kick it off with her debut single "Didn't I" to be released May 15.
The group En Vogue, with original members Dawn Robinson, Cindy Herron, Terry Ellis and Maxine Jones, dominated the R&B charts with top singles and albums during the 90s but, after Dawn Robinson made the decision to leave the group in 1997 the group's success was never really the same.
The group continued to perform with various fill ins and group replacements and even had two separate En Vogue groups touring and performing on different stages under the same name. One group consisted of Dawn Robinson and Maxine Jones with two addition fill ins, while the other group performing with the En Vogue name consisted of Terry Ellis and Cindy Herron with two fill ins. Very reminiscent of what the original members of "The Temptations" went through during their reign in music.
Also reminiscent of "The Temptations" is the detachment from the other group members to pursue solo projects and right now is Maxine Jones' time to shine. Tack Entertainment Group and CTS Management present Maxine Jones "Didn't I," produced by NRG Sounz, available May 15.
