Ex-beauty queen sentenced: Peggy Sue Thomas sentenced for criminal assistance (Video)

An ex-beauty queen was sentenced for her role in a Whidbey Island murder. A report posted today at The Seattle Times says ex-beauty queen Peggy Sue Thomas, 47, was sentenced to serve four years in prison for rendering criminal assistance. Last month Thomas entered a guilty plea to the crime that was related to the murder of Russ Douglas.

Authorities say Thomas helped James Huden, who she was dating at the time, kill Douglas. He was found shot to death in a car just after Christmas in 2003. Thomas worked at a beauty salon owned by Douglas' wife.

Last summer, James Huden was convicted of murder and and received a sentence of 80 years in prison. Thomas, who won the Ms. Washington beauty pageant in 2000, was not arrested until 2011.

What are your thoughts on the ex-beauty queen sentenced for rendering criminal assistance? Do you think her punishment was too light in comparison to Huden's 80-year sentencing? She was, after all, an accomplice on some level.
