In an effort to increase awareness of the Extra Life charity marathon, it was announced today, Sept 19, via Facebook that The Gamer’s Ghost, founder of The Spirit of Gaming, has partnered with the Las Vegas Strip musical, Evil Dead the Musical. The duo has teamed up to not only amplify outreach of the charity, but also provide donors with a tempting incentive.
Sirc Michaels, producer and director of Sin City’s musical iteration of the “Evil Dead” trilogy, will offer two general admission tickets to “Evil Dead the Musical” for any donation of $40 or more. In order to quality, donations must be made to any participant of the Spirit of Gaming team, found on the Extra Life website. The donation will need to be made with a valid e-mail attached so that the donor may receive the tickets, though The Gamer’s Ghost promises that e-mails will “be used only for communication about [the] tickets and will not be given to any third party”.
The Extra Life charity marathon is run by the Children’s Miracle Network and is currently amidst its fourth annual marathon. All donations received will benefit the local children’s hospitals of the participants choice. In response to donations, participants will partake in a 25-hour long gaming session, scheduled tentatively for Nov 2, 2013.
“Evil Dead the Musical” is a Las Vegas Strip based production at the Planet Hollywood’s V theater. Known best for often crude nature, the production and its cast are no stranger to charity functions, having spent plenty of time at events for Opportunity Village and the Nevada Society for the Prevent of Cruelty to Animals.
Dates and times of the two tickets are subject to change.
