Evgeni Plushenko is a figure skating legend that the world loves. Perhaps that’s why when he pulled out of the Olympic competition last week people were surprised. After withdrawing only minutes before his performance, he left the ice and then he announced his retirement from figure skating. It appears his decision might have been a little hasty. According to NBC Olympics on Tuesday, the figure skater is reconsidering his decision to retire for good.

Talking to the Russian media, the figure skater is suggesting he might be back in Olympic 2018. What are his options if he wants to return to the ice rink? Evgeni Plushenko might need to have more than a few surgeries to be better, but the prideful athlete doesn't seem to mind the idea especially if it is to make his country proud.

When Plushenko pulled out of the individual competition last Thursday, just four days after helping Russia win the gold medal in the inaugural team event, there was a large amount of support from the fans. Now, with the idea that he might return to the ice in the future, fans don’t know what kind of response to have about the situation. He will be 35 in 2018, so people wonder if another Olympic performance is a real possibility.
