Everything is coming up Irish at the annual Ohio Celtic Festival

Eyes will be smiling even if they are not of Irish descent when you attend the 3rd annual Ohio Celtic Festival being held on Friday, June 27, Saturday, June 28 and Sunday, June 29 at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Painesville Township, Ohio. It is approximately a 30 minute drive from Cleveland.

Ohio Celtic Festival Spotlighting musicians from Ireland, Canada and the U.S. (including local musicians), the Ohio Celtic Festival will feature Irish dance and musical performances of traditional Irish music, folk music, Irish rock music, ceili dance music and Irish bagpipe music.

Among the performers at the Ohio Celtic Festival this year will be Brigid's Cross, New Barleycorn, the Makem and Spain Brothers, Derek Warfield and the young Wolftones, the IAC East Side Pipes and Drums, the Tartan Terrors, Black Sheep Pipes and Drums, the Mad Macs, Ciaran Sheehan, No Strangers Here, the West Side IAC Pipes and Drums and the Bogside Rogues.

Dance performers include the Murphy Irish Dancers, the Leneghan Irish Dancers and the Burke School of Irish Dance.

Other activities and attractions at the Ohio Celtic Festival being offered are a barnyard petting zoo, face painting, a karate demonstration, caricatures, inflatables, storytime and the Great Brad Magic Show and the Outback Ray Show.

There will be lots and lots of food and beverages (including traditional Irish fare) available for purchase.

Hours for the Ohio Celtic Fest are 5 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. on Friday, noon -11:30 p.m. on Saturday and noon - 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. There will be a Sunday Mass celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on June 29. Admission is $12 for adults, and $8 for seniors and students. Children 12 and under are free. Admission on Sunday, June 29 from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. (only) is free if you bring two cans of non-perishable food items that can be donated to the local food banks.

For those visitors who would like to stay overnight, the Quail Hollow Resort is the Festival's host hotel. They are offering a package that includes one night's accommodations at the Resort, breakfast for two the next morning, two tickets to the Ohio Celtic Festival and transportation to and from the Festival.
