Everything is 50% off at Goodwill on Monday, April 21. One of the best fishing holes in Columbia just keeps getting better, and local thrift shoppers wait anxiously for these special half price sales. It only lasts one day, so make the most of it!

Goodwill’s racks are crammed with tops and tees, blouses and shirts, jeans and chinos, tanks and camis, skirts and capris. It’s a great way to spend an hour or so, and hidden treasures are sure to show up. There are always some designer labels and name brand fashions.

Goodwill at 2736 Decker Boulevard has an excellent selection of spring tops and tees, tanks and camis, and a tremendous selection of shoes, sandals and handbags. There are lots of skirts and dresses, with many in plus sizes. The handbag display is surely worth a look, and new Yellow Box sandals were just found by a thrifty shopper.

Goodwill at 9630 Two Notch Road has a great selection of sweaters, knit tops, layered-look tops, jeans and chinos and sleepwear. A rack or formal wear and prom gowns has recently been added, with a nice selection of bridesmaid gowns.

Goodwill at 118 Knoll Station Drive in Lexington has a huge selection, with lots of plus size blouses, tees, tanks, skirts and slacks. There are plenty of corporate combos to out together on a budget. It’s never surprising to find brand new apparel with tags still attached. Plus size ladies will find a tremendous selection of career and casual separates. You’ll want to allow plenty of time in this huge store.

Goodwill’s sales can also help thrifty fashion shoppers earn a little extra money by purchasing name brand clothing in mint condition, such as American Eagle and Land’s End jeans, Ann Taylor LOFT and Aeropostale juniors’ separates, and Nine West or Bueno handbags and reselling them on eBay or at your local consignment shop for much more than you paid.

Check your pants pockets, shake out your piggy banks, and clean under the couch cushions. You’re sure to find a dollar or two in loose change that can be turned into a new eyelet blouse or colorblock dress for spring.
