Don't let El Souk's advertisement fool you into thinking the food they serve is "exquisite." In fact, the Happy Wok style store front will immediately tell you they serve food fast and cheap and nothing exquisite.
A lot of the food items are pre-made, and thus, allowing the restaurant to serve takeout boxes fast. The meat cooked on spits is already pre-shaved and kept warm. The tabouli and hummus, both Mediterranean staples, are pre-made. Even the falafels are pre-fried and kept warm.
There is nothing so unique here on the menu. Everything is familiar. If you are not looking for a special interpretation of the same old, you will be satisfied here.
This is already a cheap restaurant, but if you are really budget conscious, get the lunch special. It comes with rice, two good-sized servings of rice, a few sides, and pita bread. The big box will burn less than $10 and will give you two good meals.
