Ephesians 1:3-6 (NLT)
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.
I am blessed. If you are a believer, you are blessed too. Even if you do not “feel” blessed or see the “blessings” of God in your life it does not change the fact that you are indeed blessed by God. By uniting our life with Jesus Christ and making the conscious choice to follow Him, Christians has entered into a covenant blessing with God the Father, the Son and His Spirit. We are blessed in our creation. We are blessed by birth and rebirth. God loves us and chose us in Christ to be holy without fault in His Eye which is impossible outside of a partnership with Jesus. He decided to adopt us so that we could be inheritors of His Kingdom. God did it because He wanted to which means that there is nothing we did or can do to earn it – it was His Gift born of love. It gives God great pleasure when we discover the blessings that He has hidden along the pathways of life. God’s Grace allows us to have everything that He has promised from the beginning until now. But if we do not strive to live in God’s Blessing, the enemy will gladly take it from us. Knowing the truth about the Light of God’s Love, but returning to the darkness of sin and disobedience – you will forsake you blessing and allow satan to take it away from you. God made you to be blessed. He empowered you to receive it. He gave you the authority to claim it. What are you doing with everyday blessings?
Genesis 5:1-2 (NLT)
This is the written account of the descendants of Adam. When God created human beings, he made them to be like himself. He created them male and female, and he blessed them and called them “human.”
People are the only created being made in the image of God to be like Him. He created male and female ordaining them to be blessed just by being called “human”. You are blessed whether you live in acceptance of your calling or not. It does not change the fact that God created you to be blessed. Now all that is required is to live up to your calling! You were made to be blessed!
Genesis 1:26-28 (NLT)
Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.” So God created human beings in his own image.
In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”
When God created people, he was very intentional in their purpose. He blessed them immediately upon completion. He blessed them to be fruitful. He blessed them to multiply. (Prosper) He blessed them with influence. (Fill the earth) He blessed them with knowledge and discernment. (Govern) He blessed them with authority and power. (Rule) He blessed them with inheritance in His Kingdom to come. (Reign) All we must do is live up to our full potential and we will be blessed. Potential and purpose are not fulfilled in the classroom or workplace. God created you with these things in mind and put them in your heart. When humans were misguided by sin, Jesus gave us His Spirit to lead us to fulfillment and enable us to claim the inheritance of our Father once more. God’s Blessing on your life did not dry up because you messed up. He knew it would happen and provided the Way (Jesus) back to fulfillment. The covenant of blessing between God and His People can never be broken – it will simply go unclaimed by those who choose to love the darkness more than the light. But for those who decide to be Children of the Light – everyday blessing will be revealed day by day!
Isaiah 54:9-10 (NLT)
“Just as I swore in the time of Noah that I would never again let a flood cover the earth, so now I swear that I will never again be angry and punish you. For the mountains may move
and the hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for you will remain. My covenant of blessing will never be broken,” says the LORD, who has mercy on you.
Thank God for His Mercy for it keeps the covenant of blessing intact. It can never be broken thanks to Jesus Christ. In the days of Noah after the flood, God perpetuated His Blessing on mankind. (Genesis 9:1) It was to be a brand new start. However, sin continued to overrun the heart and mind of God’s People so they stumbled back into the darkness of sin and degradation. God decided enough was enough. He had to secure His Covenant of Blessing for His Beloved once and for all. So with great compassion and mercy, Jesus died for all our sins. Now there would be no barrier between mankind and the blessings God (the Father) intended for His Precious Children. No matter how bad things get, there is always a Way back into the Blessings of God. His Name is Jesus!
Deuteronomy 28:1-8 (NLT)
“If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. You will experience all these blessings if you obey the LORD your God: Your towns and your fields will be blessed. Your children and your crops will be blessed. The offspring of your herds and flocks
will be blessed. Your fruit baskets and breadboards will be blessed. Wherever you go and whatever you do, you will be blessed. The LORD will conquer your enemies when they attack you. They will attack you from one direction, but they will scatter from you in seven! The LORD will guarantee a blessing on everything you do and will fill your storehouses with grain. The LORD your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.”
Who doesn’t want to be blessed? Everyone has access to God’s Blessings – you were born with it. However, too often we try to claim an inheritance in God’s Kingdom living as a rebellious traitor. God is not stupid. His Word is true. If you fully obey the Lord and carefully keep ALL His Commandments…blessing and obedience are partners. In order to experience all of God’s Blessings in your life, you must live in obedience to the Word, Will and Way of God. Intentional Christians obtain the full blessing that God has for them in their lifestyle of careful alignment to God’s Way and His Kingdom Principles. Grace allows us to continue in the covenant of blessing when we fall short but does not allow us to rob the Lord by asking for one thing but living in darkness. God created us in His Image. We are to be like Him to experience His Blessing. Jesus Christ made a way for us to live in right-standing with God which allows all the blessings in His Covenant with mankind. Kingdom kids inherit Kingdom blessing. Everyone wants the “wherever” and “whatever” blessing that God has promised but few are willing to do what it takes to have it. Simple obedience in every aspect of life is the only way to have every day blessings. Sin will rob you every single time. (Jeremiah 5:25) Compromise will try to get you to accept some sorry substitute and the sorrow that comes with it. (Proverbs 10:22) Are you willing to do whatever it takes to have the wherever blessing of God in your life? It is well worth the wait!
Matthew 5:3-10 (NLT)
God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted. God blesses those who are humble, for they will inherit the whole earth. God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied. God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy. God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God. God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God. God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
The Grace of Jesus Christ was not so we could live some “blab-it-grab-it” lifestyle of blessing by demand. There would still be guidelines of obedience now that Jesus established righteousness for people once more. Some might say the “Old Testament” blessing of Deuteronomy 28 is old school but it would seem the Beatitudes on reverberate the outline of God’s Blessing and the need for careful attention and obedience to how we live. The only difference is obedience is now born of love not sacrifice. There is nothing more we can give God other than our life. Our time must be committed to serving God. Our heart and mind must seek to know the Lord. Our lives must demonstrate our belief in God. Such a life leads to the revelation of God’s Blessing every single day and every single way. You will have the “whatever – wherever” blessing you desire when you give your life to Jesus – all of it. Jesus did not come to do away with the Law but to fulfill it. Jesus has given us access to the abundance of God revealed in Deuteronomy 28 and repeated in Matthew 5. His Arrival brought the faithfulness and love needed to fulfill the Law of God sent through Moses so we could satisfy the Law and experience all of God’s Blessing. To live for Jesus is to experience every single blessing of His Kingdom both now and forevermore.
Matthew 16:16-19 (NLT)
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “You are blessed, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being. Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.”
If you woke up this morning with the heart knowledge and head knowledge that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, Son of the Living God and your personal Savior and Lord, you woke up empowered to experience every single blessing God has for you on earth and in Heaven. Supernatural power is yours for the asking. Abundant wisdom is yours if you will just listen to His Voice. He lives inside of you and no power of hell can prevail against you. You have the Keys to the Kingdom and it is up to you to do something with them. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal God’s Power to you. Ask the Lord to point out the everyday blessings that spiritual blindness have hidden from you. The Lord will give you spiritual discernment to see through the deception of the enemy who wants you to think something anything can separate you from the Love of God. It is impossible. Nothing can separate you from God’s Love and blessing for your life. (Romans 8:38-39) The choice is yours! Will you have all that God has promised or settle for less than God’s Best?
Psalm 119:57-58 (NLT)
LORD, you are mine! I promise to obey your words! With all my heart I want your blessings. Be merciful as you promised.
Do you desire God’s Blessing on your life today? Please understand it does not mean you will be rich by the end of today. All your problems will not dissolve in an instant. You cannot ask the Lord for anything that is outside of His Will or less than His Very Best. God is not in the halfway business. He does it all the way! Abundant and exceeding all that we can think or even imagine, but those who choose to live according to His Word and by His Spirit will have the endurance necessary to burn away all those things standing between them and God’s Blessing. They will have it along with all the peace and joy of His Kingdom. As the revelation of God and His Intentions are revealed in a humble, pure heart committed to obedience and in love with the Lord. Do you want God’s Best today? You are blessed. God created you to be blessed. You were born to be blessed. Jesus has empowered you to be blessed by His Grace, Mercy and Love. You can have it every day by living according to His Will, His Way and His Word! It all leads to blessing. You have nothing to lose. You will be blessed in your wherever and whatever! Experience the everyday blessings of God – it is for everybody!
I Chronicles 4:9-10 (NLT)
There was a man named Jabez who was more honorable than any of his brothers. His mother named him Jabez because his birth had been so painful. He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” And God granted him his request.
