In a WSJ/NBC poll the American people stepped up in a bold and alarming way informing GOP that their approval rating was at 24 percent.
Rep. Markwayne Mullin. (R) Oklahoma mistakenly made this statement Tuesday, "...the problem is that the four branches of government are not working together." Even as most Americans know there are actually three branches of government, Mullins may have a point. The fourth branch could be the American citizens. The weight of five military families subject to delay in receiving death benefits due to the government shutdown , proved overwhelming to Americans.
Results of the dissatisfaction of Americans over the extreme GOP members' government shutdown reached Congressmen as they met with President Obama Thursday evening.
Luke Russert, Capitol Hill correspondent for NBC, reported Congressmen on the Hill became frantic on the dismal news from the polls.
President Obama listened to the demands of the GOP which was for the government to remain shutdown, but the debt ceiling would be raised. The president rejected the offer to use government shutdown as a bargain chip. To use government shutdown is and should never be a form of negotiating legislation. The bonus of American citizens direct input is stopping this type of legislation , aligned with a GOP plan to receive unlimited funding from financial backers that the Supreme Court has yet to make a ruling on.
This form of unlimited funding from billionaire donors will end representative democracy and shut out American voters as President Obama warned Tuesday.
