Everybody's Interlaken

Interlaken, Switzerland finds itself nestled between two lakes (hence the name) and cuddled by the Swiss Alps in every direction. From adrenaline junkies to people who enjoy relaxing strolls, Interlaken has something for everybody. The small city resembles a miniature train garden decorated like what you’d expect to see in a Disney movie.

Although Interlaken is a beautiful town for someone to experience Swiss culture, the Alps aren’t a large enough obstacle to hide it from the globalization of the world. You’ll see a Hooters and a McDonalds after taking a walk through the streets.

The city draws many visitors to experience the various types of sports and activities. The extreme sports lovers will look to the sky for their fun. Skydiving, paragliding, bungee jumping, and canyon jumping are just a few of the intense activities. If your heart can’t handle that much excitement, don’t worry; there are plenty of other fun things to do.

Night sledding down a mountain is a surreal experience. The only guiding light is the moon. You’ll be able to see all the stars, lights from the secluded mountain villages, and the peaks presenting themselves in the form of silhouettes.

If you find yourself in Interlaken, you might as well go skiing or snowboarding. Even if you belong on the bunny slope, it’s always cool to tell people you went skiing in the Swiss Alps.

If sports of any kind are not for you, there are still other attractions such as a casino, shopping, restaurants (not just McDonalds and Hooters), and many scenic locations.

To get a bird’s eye view from inside, the restaurant on the top floor of the Hotel Metropole offers fantastic perspectives of the city and mountains. No matter what your interest is, Interlaken has something for everybody.
