Not only is Mickey Rooney getting a special tribute but getTV will be giving a tribute to western star, Tim McCoy. McCoy was a western star that started out in the 1920s and had since then made many movies. He was born in 1891 and died in 1978. He was inducted in the Western Performers Hall of Fame and was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His contribution in cinema hasn't gone unnoticed.
getTV will be airing these movies every Saturday at the same time, 12 p.m. ET. They will also be airing two movies. If you're a fan of classic westerns you will then have your afternoon filled. So the following movies will be airing:
- 12 p.m. – "Shotgun Pass"
"Shotugun Pass" is an action western that has Tim McCoy plays a man that has to herd some horses to a certain destination, but of course has to battle his way through and there is some romance in the mix. Virginia Lee Corbin, Frank Rice, and Joe Marba starred in the movie with him.
- 1:15 p.m. – "The Fighting Fool"
Tim McCoy plays a sheriff who pursues an outlaw named "The Shadow." Marceline Day, William V. Mong, and Robert Ellis starred in the movie with McCoy.
- 12 p.m. – "Texas Cyclone"
John Wayne stars with McCoy in this movie about a rancher that was thought to be dead, but comes back to his home.
- 1:20 p.m. – "Two-fisted Law"
John Wayne is once again in the mix in this 1932 movie about a rancher that settles his debts and fights corruption.
- 12 p.m. – "Daring Danger"
"Daring Danger" is based off on a story written by William Colt MacDonald. In the movie McCoy has to fight a rustler named Alexander and meets up with another rustler that he has to fight.
- 1:20 p.m. – "Fighting for Justice"
McCoy along with Joyce Compton, Robert Frazer, and William V. Mong starred in this movie about a cowboy that fights to get back his father's ranch that was illegally sold.
- 12 p.m. – "End of the Trail"
Tim McCoy plays an Army officer who is sympathetic to the Indian cause and is framed into a court-martial.
- 1:20 p.m. – "The Prescott Kid"
Tim McCoy stars in this western about the crime of cattle rustling. Alden Chase, Joseph Sauers, Albert J. Smith, and Hooper Atchley starred in the movie with McCoy.
