In April, volunteers and staff came together to work on and clean trails in preparation of the opening season. Mountain Biking on Tiger Mountain has been available since the early 1990’s. However, recently grants from Washington Wildlife & Recreation Program and Nonhighway & Off-Road Vehicle Activities Program enabled development of the new trails. Future development and on-going maintenance of 25 miles of trails was secured through additional funding sources.

These newly developed trails are good news for all bicyclists. Evergreen’s work to develop trails in Washington State has enhanced Washington’s status as a Bicycle-Friendly State. Whether a state has a plan or agreement for mountain bike trails is one of the areas assessed by the League of American Bicyclists when evaluating a state for the Bicycle-Friendly America Program.
