  • My CD Pick of the Week from KCRW- Joachim Cooder - Love on a Real Train

Release date: April 3rd - Aeronaut Records — KCRW chose percussionist Joachim Cooder’s smooth jam, Sade-inspired collaboration with brother-in-law Robert Francis for Today’s Top Tune. Listen here: http://bit.ly/GDuT26 The track is from Cooder’s new LP, ‘Love on a Real Train,’ which KCRW calls “a thoughtful cycle of songs inspired by the view from his Echo Park studio at sunset.” Featuring musicians Inara George, Petra Haden, Juliette Commagere, Matt Costa, Jon Hassell, and Frank Lyon, this is Cooder’s debut as a bandleader. Stream the entire record here: http://bit.ly/AAec2j

“These are love songs mostly,” says Cooder, “but what I love about them is that they are imaginary and abstract and somewhat internal. Since everything is so in your face these days, we've lost the mystery that is so important and that’s what I’m always striving for.”
