Events planned for Sesquicentennial of Battle of Gettysburg (Video)

The Gettysburg National Military Park Advisory Commission has scheduled two meetings this year. They take place on Thursday, April 25 and Thursday, Sept. 5. Both take place at the Gettysburg National Military Park, Ford Education Center, 1195 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania 17325. The public may attend the meetings and file written statements on any relevant matter beforehand.
The meetings will focus on the Gettysburg National Military Park Operational Update and plans to celebrate the Sesquicentennial of the Battle of Gettysburg, which took place July 1-3, 1863 during the American Civil War.

Also at the April meeting, new officers of the commission will be nominated.

The National Park Service and Gettysburg Foundation plan a series of events this year to celebrate the sesquicentennial of the battle and Abraham Lincoln's famed Gettysburg Address.
