There are a lecture coming up that is sure to be extremely informative and interesting:

NYS Museum Research and Collections Evening Lecture Series: Ice Age New York
January 08, 2014: 7:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.
Location: Huxley Theater
Description: During the last 2 million years, the Great Lakes Region has been invaded multiple times from the north by massive southward expanding ice sheets. Each glacial advance modified the landscape through erosion and deposition. Nowhere is the legacy of glaciation as well preserved as in New York State. The landscape we live on, grow our food on and build on is geologically young, complex and fascinating. Dr. Andrew Kozlowski, Glacial Geologist, will describe the sediment, landforms, chronology and geologic processes of the most recent glaciations that culminated in Ice Age New York.
