The new year starts off with a bang at Chicago LEGO Stores with a variety of fun events and great deals on new toys during January 2013.
January LEGO Stores events
On Tuesday, January 8, boys and girls ages 6 to 14 can visit their local store starting at 5 p.m. and take part in this month's monthly mini model build. Kids will receive a free kit to assemble and take home, while supplies last. This month's design is a wintry theme — an adorable igloo with two puffins birds.
On Saturday, January 26, kids can attend this month's LEGO Club meeting. The theme is Legends of Chima, and attendees will be challenged to build a vehicle to help transport the lions through the swamp. Registrations are limited and required, so interested kids must sign up early. The cost is $25 per kid ($20 for VIP members) and comes with a limited-edition LEGO Club T-shirt.
Beginning on January 26, builders all over can take part in a special LEGO In-Store Play Event, the LEGO Chima Challenge. Playing with the new LEGO Chima Speedorz, kids can compete with one another to see who will be the CHI champion. While supplies last, participants will receive a special Legends of Chima Poster.
January LEGO Stores deals
All month, customers who spend at least $75 can receive a free LEGO Legends of Chima set.
Kids who received a free Holiday Pick-A-Brick box can return to stores and fill it with building elements from the Pick-A-Brick wall starting December 26, 2012 (the deadline for using this offer is March 31, 2013).
Many fun new sets will be released and available at stores this month, including the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sets, the new Horizon Express set, LEGO City Museum Break-In, and the exclusive LEGO Batman Arkham Asylum Breakout.
